Top 2012 Trend Six: Sangria, Champagne and Shots!

by

Mix it up! Sangria bars are spicing up receptions. Sangria includes the guests’ wine of choice (red, white or rose) infused with real fruit poured over ice. During an event we created for the Knot’s “Cocktails & Connections”, we offered a champagne and organic chocolate bar, which became a big hit among guests. Another new trend in beverages is the solid cocktail, served in spoons instead of glasses. Think Jell-O shots with panache! Different flavor martinis or whatever drink the couple enjoys, can be made in this solid form to serve to your guests. These small cocktails are a great way to sample new flavors and offer your guests a unique beverage experience.

Top 2012 Trend Five: Play with your food

by

What if you could have more fun with your food at your wedding? In 2012, brides are starting to order foods that they enjoy and are transitioning food into an activity where guests can mingle at the wedding. Offering late night snacks is big this year. Breakfast bites, like those pictured, with small versions of chocolate chip pancakes topped with maple syrup, blueberries or strawberries and accented with powdered sugar are sure to make your guest’s mouths water; or serve up mini fresh Bubbie’s donuts, made right before your guests’ eyes, like those crafted by one of our local vendors in Phoenix, Express Subito. One wedding reception even featured a bakery style display case offering chocolate sprinkled donuts and freshly made bagels. The possibilities are endless!
Play with your food . . . maybe not the best for a wedding but how about a fundraiser or party? Involve your guest with the sugar bubble like one created by C2 Catering in Toronto.

Top 2012 Trend Three: Juice Bars

by

Juice Bars! No, not that kind of juice … these bars are locations to plug in phones and cameras during the reception. Brides want more places for their guests to gather and socialize. It is also very useful! Think of those great “end of the night” photos that everyone will be able to get!
